On Saturday, the Brügglifeld offered a first foretaste of the coming Ghost Games. FC Thun Berner Oberland met Challenge League side FC Aarau in their first test match before the resumption of the Super League.
After a balanced start, the home side gained a game advantage with a 1-0 goal. A high entry into the penalty area could not be brought under control by the Thun defence, so the ball finally ended up with Damir Mehidic. With a shot into the far corner he brought FC Aarau into the front. Just six minutes later, Simone Rapp had the big equalizing chance when his shot rebounded off the crossbar.
At half-time, coach Marc Schneider replaced most of the team. This measure proved effective. Thun was the deciding team after the change of sides. Finally, in the 78th minute of the game, the longed-for equalizing goal was scored. Nias Hefti's shot rebounded from the post, but Matteo Tosetti was in the right position and scored a remarkable direct shot into the high left corner to make it 1:1.
On Saturday, 13 June, Thun will meet SC Kriens in the second test match. Kick-off is at 4 pm.
