Thun wins against LS-Ouchy

Match report.
The game
Thanks to a double strike in the first half, Thun wins against Winterthur with 2:1. Meanwhile, fears about the injury of midfielder Kenan Fatkic were confirmed.
It takes Thun three minutes to get the game against FC Winterthur on track. First, in the 18th minute of the game, it is 18-year-old youngster Daniel Dos Santos who keeps his nerve in front of Dario Marzino's goal after a counterattack and scores the 0:1. Only three minutes later Dos Santos serves Dominik Schwizer, who increases the score to 0:2 with a wonderful flick from the edge of the penalty area. Shortly after the restart of the second half, Gezim Pepsi manages to score after a corner kick to 1:2. After that, Winterthur presses vehemently for the equalizer. Thanks to a lot of luck, a brilliantly acting Andreas Hirzel in the goal of Thun and the inability of Winterthur to finish, it is still 1:2 after 96 minutes of play. With this victory, Thun comes back to within three points of league leader GC. However, the Grasshoppers do not play until tomorrow - away against last-place Chiasso.

Kenan Fatkic suffers cruciate ligament rupture
After midfielder Kenan Fatkic was substituted injured last Friday after a duel in the match against Xamax, the diagnosis is now known after today's examination. The Slovenian suffered a cruciate ligament tear and will be out for several months. FC Thun Berner Oberland wishes Kenan a speedy recovery. (nth)

No winner between Thun and Xamax

Match report.
The game
Thun starts the English week goalless against Xamax. However, the loss of Kenan Fatkic, who injured his knee in the second half, weighed more heavily.
In a veritable battle game, FC Thun Berner Oberland gets off to the better start and puts Xamax under strong pressure. However, the Neuchâtel team proves that they are in good shape and have been able to stabilize massively compared to the previous round. The guests do not allow anything defensively and so it is still 0-0 after 45 minutes. After the break, Xamax also comes better into the game and shows its dangerousness especially in counterattacks. But Thun, too, is tight at the back, so that the Neuchâtel team does not manage a single shot on goal in the entire match - whereas the Thun team still manages to record four shots on goal.

In the 58th minute of the game, Kenan Fatkic has to leave the pitch with a knee injury. How badly the Slovenian has actually injured himself will become clear in the coming days. (nth)

Thun wins against LS-Ouchy

Match report.
The game
Five goals, one sending-off and 11 happy Thun players - that's the conclusion of an intense, exciting match against the direct league rivals Stade-Lausanne-Ouchy.
The Thun team starts like the fire department. After just six minutes, Chris Kablan scores with a powerful shot after a failed clearance by the Lausanne defense to make it 0:1. After a corner, Nikki Havenaar increases the lead to 2:0 with a header in the 36th minute of play. However, Zeki Amdouni proves that this is by no means the preliminary decision ten minutes after the restart of the second half with his goal to make it 1:2. The Oberlanders react immediately, however, and restore the two-goal lead just eight minutes later. Nicola Sutter scores the 1:3 after a free kick by Dominik Schwizer. Shortly before, Giovani Bamba is sent off with a yellow-red. However, Lausanne-Ouchy does not give in and fights against the defeat until the end. And indeed: In injury time, Guy Mbenza manages to score again to make it 2:3, but it is not enough for more. With the deserved victory, seen over the whole game, the Thun team now extends the gap to the chasing team Stade-Lausanne-Ouchy to six points. (nth)

Thun wins against Wil

Match report.
The game
Thun wins the match against Wil thanks to three goals in the second half. Daniel Dos Santos scored his first Challenge League goal with the goal for 2:1.
Already in the first minutes of the match it is obvious that Thun has planned a lot for today's match. The Oberlanders dominate the first half, but cannot create any compelling scoring chances. Only shortly before the half-time break Wil-Goalie Philipp Köhn has to intervene a few times. After the change of ends, the Thun team shows more determination. Only four minutes after the restart, Saleh Chihadeh deflects a low cross from Dominik Schwizer into the goal for 1:0. However, the lead does not last long. In the 53rd minute, Valon Fazliu converted a foul penalty to make it 1:1. In the final phase, the Thun team made everything clear. In the 81st minute of the game, youngster Daniel Dos Santos rang in the Thun victory with his goal to make it 2:1. This is the first goal for the 18-year-old, who was only included in the 1st team squad at the beginning of March. In the 91st minute of the game, Gabriel Kyeremateng makes everything clear with an impressive lob over the Wiler goalkeeper to make it 3:1. (nth)

Draw between Thun and Chiasso

Match report.
The game
The first bad news of the evening comes before kickoff. Captain Nicola Sutter is injured during the warm-up and coach Carlos Bernegger replaces him with Nikki Havenaar. The first quarter of an hour belongs to the home team. After 16 minutes, the Thun team can't clear a Chiasso corner sufficiently. Carlo Manicone takes advantage and scores from close range to make it 1:0. After that, the Thun team gets into the game better. In the 28th minute of the game, Havenaar, who has replaced Sutter, passes a free kick to Grégory Karlen. Even though the Thun team holds the ball in their hands, Chiasso still manages to come up dangerously in front of the Oberlanders' goal. Thus, Thun can consider itself lucky that the score is still 1:1 at the break. After the break, Thun dominates the game and creates several scoring chances, but without being successful. Thus, even after 94 minutes of play, no winner is determined.

Thun wins against Winterthur

Match report.
The game
Despite a 3:0 lead, FC Thun Berner Oberland has to tremble at the end in a 3:2 win against FC Winterthur.
Two gross mistakes by the Winterthur defense initiate the Thun victory. Already in the 3rd minute of the game Nicolas Hasler can benefit from a lapse and scores from close range to 0:1. In the 29th minute of the game a failed clearance reaches Saleh Chihadeh, who ice-coldly scores the 0:2. Thun remains extremely active and determined and can even extend the lead in the 62nd minute. Again it is Chihadeh who converts a corner from Dominik Schwizer with his head to make it 3:0. Towards the end of the game, the Thun team comes under more pressure. And indeed: In the 84th minute of the game Roberto Alves hammers a free kick into the net via the bottom of the crossbar. This goal releases the last energy reserves of Winterthur. In the 90th minute of the match the coordination in the Thun defense is not right for once. And Sayfallah Ltaief promptly manages to score the final goal after a cross from Roman Buess to make it 2:3. But that's all the Oberlanders allow and they save the narrow lead over time. (nth)

Thun loses against GC

Match report.
The game
Gabriel Kyeremateng is the match winner of the evening with the goal for 1:0 shortly after his substitution.
The matches in the Challenge League are often decided by the fight. This fact was once again underlined in the match against SC Kriens. The two teams struggled, but little was achieved on either side. The difference made this evening Joker Gabriel Kyeremateng. In the 75th minute of the game, the striker came into the game for Saleh Chihadeh and shot with the first touch of the ball the Thun into luck. The German was in the right place for Nias Hefti's cross and deflected the ball into the net unstoppably for 1:0. After four defeats, this victory is balm on the soul of the Thun. The only downer was that both Dominik Schwizer and Dennis Salanovic had to be substituted with injuries. (nth)

Thun loses against Aarau

Match report.
The game
Once again, FC Thun Berner Oberland is empty-handed against Aarau after 90 minutes at Brügglifeld. In the meantime, however, Bernegger's team proved morale.
The Thun team had high hopes for the match against FC Aarau. But the disillusionment follows already in the 7th minute of play. A corner kick is cleared straight into the feet of Mickaël Almeida. He doesn't take long to score the opening goal from close range to make it 1:0 for the home team. Thereupon, an entertaining game develops with equal shares of the game without compelling scoring chances on both sides - until the 37th minute of play. Once again, it is Mickaël Almeida who convinces with his efficiency and extends the lead to 2:0 with an impressive full-stretch shot under the crossbar. However, Thun does not let itself get down and fights back within four minutes. First it is Sahleh Chihadeh in the 59th minute of play who decisively deflects a finish from Nias Hefti and scores to make it 2-1, then in the 63rd minute of play a corner kick is headed into his own goal by Léon Bergsma to make it 2-2. The thrilling duel is decided only shortly before the end. In the 88th minute of the match, a blocked shot attempt by Marco Aratore ends up with Filip Stojilkovic, who reacts in a flash and scores to make it 3:2. In the last minute of the regular playing time, Aratore finally makes everything clear with a confidently converted foul penalty to make it 4:2. (nth)

Defeat against Schaffhausen

Match report.
The game
Three goals conceded in the first half decide the match between FC Schaffhausen and FC Thun Berner Oberland.
Although Dominik Schwizer almost scores the opening goal after just a few seconds, the first half holds little joy for the Oberlanders. After just over three minutes, it is already 1:0. Danilo Del Toro showers the Thun team ice-cold with a well-placed low shot. In the 22nd minute, Francísco Rodríguez scores to increase the lead to 2:0, and Rodrigo Pollero extends the lead to 3:0 with a header about 10 minutes before the half-time break. After the break, Thun starts with two strikers and puts Schaffhausen under more pressure.
